In addition to service by personnel on site, machines with CNC control can also be equipped with a remote diagnosis feature. Use of a telephone line is preferable for this purpose, however an Internet-based version is also available. The advantage of this system is the possibility of checking electrical components and, where applicable, updating the software to conform to the latest release. Down times can be reduced significantly with remote diagnosis, making on-site customer service or technician assignments superfluous, thus reducing costs.
