Diskus double surface lateral grinding machine with vertical spindles.
 
This machine type consists of a steel-welded box frame design, which has higher flexural strength than a comparable portal machine. It has two vertical, directly motor-driven spindles located on the same axis, with liquid cooling. Each of these spindles is driven by 23 kW to 48 kW. They are attached to compact slides with self-aligning bearings, which perform all infeed and return motions using precision screw drives.
The machine type required for your application can be used as a plunge cut as well as through-feed machine. The planetary gear drive provided allows a number of workpieces to be machined simultaneously with controlled rotation. The grinding tools infeed using the plunge cut method while positioned in a planetary gear rotating around its own axis. The same machine can be used for through-feed by replacing the transport plates.

This machine type is a steel-box frame welded construction with two opposing horizontal grinding spindles with the same axis. These are directly driven, liquid cooled motor driven spindles whose main spindle drives each have a motor output of 24 kW to 100 kW.

 

 

Various types of workpiece transport are possible. Linear workpiece feed can also be selected, depending on the workpiece geometry. In this case, the workpieces are fed and guided with the help of guide rails for the grinding tools. At the discharge, Diskus's own ionic 100 % measuring control measures each part.

 

 

The measuring results from this post-process measuring control are transferred to the SIEMENS 840D machine control and used for automatic correction as required.

Continuous plunge cut grinding - Type DDS

In this grinding process the workpieces are guided through the grinding wheels a number of times with the aid of a transport plate. A plunge cut is accomplished during each pass until the final dimension is reached.

Continuous plunge cut grinding - Type DDS

In this grinding process the workpieces are guided through the grinding wheels with the aid of a transport plate. The plunge cut is accomplished separately for each workpiece.

Continuous plunge cut grinding - Type DDW

In this grinding process the workpieces are guided through the grinding wheels with the aid of a transport plate. The plunge cut is accomplished separately for each workpiece.

Continuous plunge cut grinding - Type DSR2

In this grinding process the workpieces are guided beneath the grinding wheels with the aid of a transport plate. The plunge cut is accomplished separately for each pair of workpieces. The special feature is that workpieces with different heights (increments) can be ground.

Plunge cut grinding (with oscillation) – Type DHS

In this grinding process the workpieces are guided beneath the movable grinding wheel with the aid of a charging unit. The plunge cut is accomplished with oscillation while the workpiece is beneath the grinding wheel.

In this grinding process the workpieces are guided to the grinding wheel with the aid of a guide. The plunge cut is accomplished separately on each workpiece while the grinding wheel oscillates.

With this grinding process the workpieces located in individual planetary gears are guided through the grinding wheels with the aid of a transport plate in such a manner that the plunge cut is accomplished separately for each planetary gear. During the plunge cut the planetary gears rotate together with the workpieces located in them.

Plunge cut grinding with rocker arm (with oscillation) – Type DDW

In this grinding process the workpieces are guided between the grinding wheels with the aid of a rocker arm. The plunge cut is accomplished with oscillation while the workpiece is between the grinding wheels.

In this grinding process the workpieces are guided through the grinding wheels one after another with the aid of a transport plate.
