Diskus double surface lateral grinding machine with vertical spindles.
 
This machine type consists of a steel-welded box frame design, which has higher flexural strength than a comparable portal machine. It has two vertical, directly motor-driven spindles located on the same axis, with liquid cooling. Each of these spindles is driven by 23 kW to 48 kW. They are attached to compact slides with self-aligning bearings, which perform all infeed and return motions using precision screw drives.
The machine type required for your application can be used as a plunge cut as well as through-feed machine. The planetary gear drive provided allows a number of workpieces to be machined simultaneously with controlled rotation. The grinding tools infeed using the plunge cut method while positioned in a planetary gear rotating around its own axis. The same machine can be used for through-feed by replacing the transport plates.

Diskus lateral surface grinding machines with moving vertical spindle.
This machine type is a machine with vertical motor-driven grinding spindle. The workpieces are clamped and ground using clamping devices designed for the specific type of work. The devices are fastened to the machine bed. The column saddle on which the motor-driven spindle is mounted, is used as downfeed, dressing and oscillating carriage.
 
The unfinished and finished parts are transported by an automatic charging/discharging system, which can be installed parallel to the machine in various directions for the operating sequence. The workpieces are clamped with clamping devices designed for the specific type of work.
The machine has 2 clamping devices and one grinding tool. While the first workpiece is being ground at station "A", a second workpiece is simultaneously discharged and a new workpiece charged. In the next cycle, the workpiece at station "B" is ground, while the first workpiece is moved out and a new workpiece loaded again. During this cycle, the wet grinding area is locked to protect the operator.
 
Workpieces can be measured with extremely high precision during the program sequence with the built-in measuring system. The measuring results can be used for dimensional corrections on the machine if required.

Diskus lateral surface grinding machines with stationary vertical spindle.
This machine type has a vertical, stationary motor-driven grinding spindle. The workpieces are guided to the grinding tool clamped in the column saddle and clamping device. The grinding process itself can be accomplished with plunge cut grinding or plunge cut grinding with oscillation, whereby the downfeed is accomplished in the vertical direction with the Z axis and oscillation with the X axis. The grinding tool can be dressed with a dressing tool mounted additionally on the column saddle.
 
The unfinished parts are fed in and the finished parts are moved out by a feed/discharge belt. The present column saddle simultaneously serves as a pickup unit with which the workpieces are moved into the operating chamber and back to the conveyor belt.
 
Separating modules are available for the feed/discharge belt as options as well as turning stations for grinding both sides.
 
Double clamping devices as well as rotating clamping devices can be mounted on the column saddle depending on the size of the workpiece as well as the tolerances for evenness and parallelity.

Diskus lateral surface grinding machine turntable with moving vertical spindle. This machine type is an advancement of the DS series. It supersedes the DSR versions, familiar for decades. The box-frame design, welded steel construction of the machine frame is used in the DS series as a "pick-up machine". It has two vertical motor-driven grinding spindles, each installed on a column saddle, allowing them to be positioned as required in the operating area. The working surfaces of the grinding tools point down. A turntable for mounting the workpiece clamping devices is located on the machine bed below the grinding tools. The switch cabinet is attached to the rear of the machine frame. A SIEMENS 840D is used for the control. Special clamping devices, magnetic chucks, guide masks and clamping chucks can be used for grinding various workpieces. The machine can be equipped for multiple-stage one or two-side grinding. This makes grinding and brush deburring possible in one cycle. This makes the machine ideal for processing symmetrical or asymmetrical incremental or equally thick workpieces.

This machine type has a horizontal, stationary motor-driven grinding spindle. The workpieces are guided to the grinding tool clamped in the column saddle and clamping device. The column saddle is guided by pre-tensioned rolling guides. All feed motions are accomplished by the ball screw drive and directly connected digital servo motors. The grinding process itself can be accomplished as plunge cut grinding or plunge cut grinding with oscillation, whereby the downfeed and oscillation axis can be selected as desired. The grinding tool can be dressed with a dressing tool mounted additionally on the column saddle. The SIEMENS 840D with integrated safety serves as the control.
 
The unfinished parts are fed in and the finished parts are moved out by a feed/discharge belt. The present column saddle simultaneously serves as a pick and place unit with which the workpieces are moved into the operating chamber and back to the conveyor belt. The workpiece flow can be selected freely.
